The core feature of every Sundirect heater is the far infrared heating element. It works the same way as a classic stove being a body with higher temperature which transfers energy to a body with lower temperature through electromagnetic radiation. We mainly consider three different types of infrared: Near infrared, Medium-wave infrared and Far infrared. Normally Near infrared heaters operate at high filament temperatures above 1,800 °C, Medium-wave infrared heaters operate at filament temperatures of around 1,000 °C and Far infrared heaters operate at a much lower temperature of approx 80°C to 120°C. Due to this core advantage, the Far infrared technology is widely used in the Far infrared sauna, Infrared lamps and other appliances for health treatment systems as well as in the panel heaters like those supplied by SUNDIRECT. Because the heating elements are at a relatively low temperature, SUNDIRECT heaters do not yield emissions, dust, dirt, formaldehyde, toxic fumes from paint-coating, etc. This has made SUNDIRECT heaters very popular among people with severe allergies and multiple chemical sensitivity. Several studies have examined the use of far infrared heater in the treatment of chronic health problems, such as high blood pressure, congestive heart failure and rheumatoid arthritis, and found some evidence of benefit.

What’s far infrared?
The future lies in far infrared heating. Due to the fact that far infrared is operating at around 80-120°C surface temperature it creates the most comfortable heating condition without the potential of getting burned. The in-house produced carbon crystal heating element
Among all the parts that decide the quality and the lifespan of the panels, the heating element makes a significant difference. We can guarantee it’s quality by producing the heating element in-house. Compared to our competitors using the carbon fiber heating element we offer a unique version of carbon crystals. We use german technologies for the production of carbon crystals, which is an upgraded version of carbon fiber. It removes the problem of hot spots and creates a more even surface temperature (within 10 degrees). By adding special chemical materials into the ink generating heat, the Sundirect carbon crystal heating element even further enhances the performance especially when operating around the working temperature of about 100 degrees.
Better design, better effiiciency
The design of a panel is very important regarding its efficiency. We use a white aluminium or glass/ mirror surface above the heating element to round up the design. All Sundirect panels use a heating element, insulation material and a reflection layer. Most competitors are not using insulation materials due to easier production steps while this is one of the most important factors when it comes to design. We use a fiber glass insulation inside the panel with a thickness of 3mm which decreases the loss of energy, thus resulting into energy savings making our panels 7-8% more efficient.

Additionally Sundirect has its very own internal quality control system called “SMP” QC System. Every panel has a traceable serial number, which related with all the information of production as well as a thermal image taken after production.

The Sundirect Smart 1.0 Pro control system comes with a thermostat and also can be operated via the Sundirect Smart App. It is compatible with all infrared heaters of the Sundirect Plus range. With our smart control system, you can take full control over your heating using the Sundirect App remotely from any iOS or Android device. You can pair one thermostat with several panels in the same room and control all of them at once in one App. Now, you are also able to use Smart1.0 Pro with Alexa or Google Home for even further convenience. The Smart 1.0 Pro remote control must be wired to your home grid.

This function allows you to set up your very own heating schedule for each day of the week. Use different temperature settings e.g. for when you are at home, work or when you go to bed. Our 7 Day Program can save up to 15% of energy compared to manual control systems.
Adaptive start
With Adaptive start the control system is learning how long the infrared panel heaters will take to reach the programmed temperature settings so the temperature is reached at the time you set. This means your heat will come on earlier so that the temperature is reached e.g. by the time you get up. With adaptive start you can save up to 2% of energy compared to manual controls.
Holiday mode
Set up your heaters on holiday mode with our countdown timer if you go away for an extended period of time. Your heaters will minimally heat your home to avoid frozen pipes in the wintertime.
